April 2–6, 2014
Join the São Paulo International Art Fair as it celebrates its ten-year anniversary edition! Galleries interested in participating can access the online application at www.sp-arte.com/application. The Fair will take place April 3–6, with a VIP/Professional preview being held on April 2, 2014.
In 2013, SP-Arte experienced a historic edition, establishing SP-Arte as one of the leading global art fairs in the world. 122 galleries participated in the Fair and over 22,000 collectors, curators, artists, and art professionals visited the Pavilion to experience vast Modern and Contemporary artwork available by both Brazilian and International artists.
Applicants can choose from one of the four multidisciplinary sections available at SP-Arte:
Modern (up to 1970s) and Contemporary (1980s to present) sections for galleries specializing in works ranging from the early 20th century to present day.
Showcase, a section launched in 2012, will now be divided into two groups. One group will show works by a maximum of three artists. The second group will present monographic exhibitions coordinated by a guest curator. Galleries for this second group will be selected through invitation by the guest curator or via SP-Arte’s application.
Editorial Cluster, an exclusive section designated for publishers of artist’s books.
All galleries should have a permanent exhibition space with at least three years of experience; galleries are encouraged to submit a detailed exhibition project for the Fair that includes a description of the installation and artwork images.
The deadline to submit all applications and necessary documents is October 1, 2013.
For additional questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. All applications will be reviewed by the Fair organizers and Selection Committee and a final list of exhibitors will be announced on December 1, 2013 on SP-Arte’s website.
SP-Arte was founded in 2005, as the premiere art fair of its kind in Brazil. It has distinguished itself as the top art fair in Latin America, presenting the world’s foremost galleries. São Paulo is a cultural hub, home to Brazil’s most prestigious museums, foundations and galleries. During the fair, SP-Arte establishes partnerships with these institutions to create a strong agenda of events that introduces locals and visitors alike to various cultural encounters in São Paulo.
SP-Arte is committed to educating and establishing a solid foundation for the development of the fine arts In Brazil. In 2008, together with Adriano Pedrosa, SP-Arte developed Curatorial Laboratory and Dialogues to encourage the participation of Brazilian professionals within the art industry.
In addition to its educative role, SP-Arte has also collaborated with ABACT, the Brazilian Association for Contemporary Art, by providing a circuit for international professionals to experience and understand more about Brazilian artists, galleries, institutions, and culture.
Through these initiatives SP-Arte inspires, educates, and facilitates cultural and business exchanges on the international stage.
