Kohn Gallery is thrilled to announce its participation at The Armory Show with a booth showcasing new and recent works by gallery artists Simmons & Burke, Ryan McGinness, RETNA, Dennis Hollingsworth, and the latest additions to our roster: New York-based painter and sculptor Eddie Martinez, and London-based collaborative Troika.  Kohn will present new works by Dennis Hollingsworth, whose vibrantly expressive paintings toy with the boundaries of the medium with their densely moulded, thickly impastoed surfaces. Eddie Martinez will debut bold, expressionist paintings in addition to a careful selection of large and small-scale sculpture. The booth will feature new and recent digital photo-collage works by Los Angeles collaborative Simmons & Burke, as well as recent works by Ryan McGinness, whose complex paintings reflect our digital present.  Graffiti writer and fine artist RETNA will also unveil never-before-seen paintings made exclusively for The Armory Show that showcase the artist’s fascination with language and culture. Also on display will be a series of works on paper by Troika. Fascinated by the relationship between technology and humanism, Troika’s art practice reflects on the nature of modern science within a cultural, political and philosophical context.

A second but equally compelling focus for our booth showcases new drawings by California Pop surrealist Mark Ryden, whose highly anticipated solo show opens in May 2014 and coincides with the grand opening of Kohn Gallery’s new building in Hollywood.
