The Stedelijk Museum continues its Public Program with Temporary Stedelijk 3: Stedelijk @

Leading up to the grand reopening in 2012, the Stedelijk Museum continues its acclaimed Public Program with Temporary Stedelijk 3: Stedelijk @. In close collaboration with numerous cultural institutions in Amsterdam, the Stedelijk will organize performances, film screenings, lectures, discussions, public interviews, music performances, book presentations, interactive happenings and other events throughout the city, featuring internationally renowned artists and speakers.

For the Public Program of Temporary Stedelijk 3, the Stedelijk Museum will collaborate with:KoninklijkConcertgebouw Orchestra, Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, De Ateliers, If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution, de Appel arts centre, Trouw/De Verdieping, University of Amsterdam, W139, Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam and Metropolis M.

In Winter 2011/2012, Temporary Stedelijk 3: Stedelijk @ presents: 

Stedelijk @ Oude Lutherse Kerk: Facing Forward: Art & Theory from a Future Perspective.
A series of lectures and debates, proudly presented by the Stedelijk Museum together with the University of Amsterdam, de Appel arts centre, W139, Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam and Metropolis M.

Stedelijk @ Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest: AAA-series
The AAA-series, an initiative of the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, consists of six events every year exploring the relationship between contemporary art and music. The Friday afternoon program Confrontations, organized in collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum, allows visual artists, curators and critics to engage with musicians, scholars, writers and theatre professionals to highlight the common ground between their various practices.

Stedelijk @ Rijksakademie:book launch and a series of artist dialogues
The Stedelijk Museum and the Rijksakademie have always been closely affiliated, with many previous residents of the Rijksakademie having exhibited at the museum and many present residents involved in the Public Program or other museum activities. This program will focus on combining the resources and interests of both institutions in shaping of contemporary art and theory.

Stedelijk @ If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution: performances 
A series of performances and events that further reflect on the medium of performance and the diversity of related artistic practices. Each event approaches the notion of performance from a different angle: from a traditional performance to more discursive formats, from the white cube to the black box, from the public space to the institutional space – actively demonstrating its many forms.

Stedelijk @ De Ateliers: Talking Film
This film program developed by the Stedelijk Museum and De Ateliers, an independent artist-run institute, focuses on former participants, guest tutors and tutor artists of De Ateliers. Four artists from various backgrounds and representing different practices will present and discuss their own recent film work in an informal setting.
With Dan Geesin, Melissa Gordon and Runa Islam, among others.

Stedelijk @ de Appel arts centre: reading group
This reading group, revolving around the six young curators participating in the Curatorial Programme of de Appel arts centre, offers a close reading of texts that relate to their final project. The curators engage in an open discussion with the audience about the questions and issues they face.

Education program:

Stedelijk @ School

A special program that brings the Stedelijk Museum into the classrooms of schools throughout Amsterdam. The Stedelijk’s new group of Blikopeners (its peer educators) and the museum docents will visit schools to give an interactive introduction to modern and contemporary art.
