Public Art Fund announces a new exhibition entitled Statuesque, which brings together a dynamic group of six international artists—Pawel Althamer, Huma Bhabha, Aaron Curry, Thomas Houseago, Matthew Monahan, and Rebecca Warren—whose work reinvigorates the tradition of figurative sculpture. Featuring ten major works of art, this exhibition marks the New York debut of each work included and is also the first time this international group of artists has been shown together.

Public Art Fund has organized exhibitions at City Hall Park for more than 30 years, but Statuesque demonstrates a new curatorial approach. Emphasizing public access and interaction, the installation features several works installed along the park’s pathways and on lawns that will be opened for visitors to experience works more directly. Statuesque is the first exhibition to be conceived and realized by Public Art Fund Director and Chief Curator Nicholas Baume, who joined the organization last September.
