Metrolinx invites professional artists to submit their credentials for consideration to the first stage of competition for several upcoming integrated public art opportunities in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Canada.

The first opportunity is the Union Station Enhancement Project in Toronto. Union Station is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, and is the busiest transit hub in the country, serving approximately 300,000 passengers a day, with projections for dramatic growth. Metrolinx is undertaking a major project to rehabilitate the historic train shed, which is the location for a new 5-acre artwork. The total budget for this permanent art installation is 5 million CAD all-inclusive.

Additional art opportunities include transit station new builds and Rapid Transit corridors in municipalities across the GTHA. Art budgets range from 250K–1M CAD each.

Selection process
Stage 1: Request for artist qualifications

Stage 2: Request for artwork concept proposals
