Coinciding with an exhibition at Marian Goodman Gallery and the forthcoming English translation of Materia Escrita, a collection of his sketchbooks and writings from the mid-’90s through 2010, Gabriel Orozco joins Paul Holdengräber for a conversation about his creative life and artistic career. Known for portraying the delicate relationship of everyday objects to one another through photography, sculpture, installation, drawing, and video, Orozco, originally from Veracruz, Mexico, has been embraced by an international audience since coming to prominence in the early 1990s.

Paul Holdengräber, founder and director of LIVE from The New York Public Library, is a seasoned interviewer, known for encouraging his guests to step outside their areas of specialization and into wider-reaching discussions. His programs have become known worldwide for providing a forum in which audiences can engage with some of the world’s most influential public figures. He has interviewed everyone from Patti Smith to Zadie Smith, Ricky Jay to Jay-Z, Errol Morris to Jan Morris, Werner Herzog to Mike Tyson. Laurie Anderson to William Kentridge, Thomas Struth to Rosanne Cash, Rick Rubin to RuPaul. Most recently he spoke with the artist Wolfgang Tillmans.
