How to Participate
Artists are invited to create a profile and art professionals may research artists on Foundwork any time.

To be considered for the prize, an artist must be a US resident and have a profile with at least five artworks published on Foundwork throughout the selection period—5pm ET September 1–5pm ET September 30, 2019.

Foundwork has a 4 USD/month membership for artists, but is free for students at accredited graduate or undergraduate studio art programs.

The Foundwork Artist Prize reflects Foundwork’s purpose to be a resource for artists regardless of their prior network or recognition. Accordingly, the selection process will ignore exhibition history and will consider only artwork and artist statements published on Foundwork.

Please see the FAQ and Official Rules for full terms and instructions on how to participate. The 2019 Foundwork Artist Prize is limited to US residents due to foreign regulations. However, Foundwork is a global platform and is proud to feature artists based in more than thirty countries.

About Foundwork
Foundwork is a new online artist platform for the contemporary art community. The site was established by Adam Yokell, a former Brooklyn gallerist, as a response to the limitations that artists and exhibitors often face trying to find and connect with one another. Foundwork is a focused venue for artists to introduce their work to a global art audience, where curators, gallerists, and other collaborators can research and engage with practicing artists wherever they are based.

Foundwork seeks to generate visibility and interest for artists on the platform, and hosts an ongoing Guest Curators program where leading practitioners are invited to highlight participating artists. The platform now features self-taught artists together with alumni and students from over 150 graduate and undergraduate studio art programs. Artists working in any media and at any career stage are welcome.
