FIAC is delighted to announce the art and cultural programme for the 2021 edition.

FIAC Hors les Murs
Jardin des Tuileries—Domaine National du Luvre
Since 2006, in association with the musée du Louvre, FIAC has presented an exhibition of artworks in the Jardin des Tuileries, including numerous works shown for the first time, many of which have been created in situ, or especially for the event. More than twenty five artworks are shown in the garden’s paths, lawns, copses, flowerbeds, and fountains. They are chosen by the Selection Committee for their artistic qualities and for the resonances they create with this heritage setting in the heart of Paris, while responding to the demands of the garden’s scale and perspectives.

In the garden, discover artworks from: Lilian Bourgeat, Aaron Curry, Eric Fischl, Markus Hansen, Sven ‘t Jolle, Abdul Rahman Katanani, Michael Kienzer, Jems Koko Bi, Norbert Kricke, Mehdi-Georges Lahlou, Vincent Laval, Laurent Le Deunff, Kokou Ferdinand Makouvia, Angelika Markul, Vincent Mauger, Bettina Pousttchi, Stefan Rinck, Lionel Sabatté, Marinella Senatore, Augustas Serapinas, John Torreano, Elmar Trenkwalder, Marion Verboom, Euridice Zaituna Kala

Main partner of FIAC Hors les Murs: Mirabaud.

Place Vendôme
Each year from 2012 onwards, FIAC Hors les Murs has invited an artist to imagine for a specific project for the Place Vendôme, which provides both powerful inspiration and an exceptional framework for contemporary creation. Over the years, it has showcased a series of bold and diverse projects including works by Jaume Plensa, Tadashi Kawamata, Paul McCarthy, Dan Graham, Ugo Rondinone, Oscar Tuazon, Elmgreen & Dragset and Yayoi Kusama. For the first time, in 2021, in association with Gagosian (Paris, New York, Beverly Hills, London, Hong Kong, Athens, Roma, Basel ), FIAC Hors les Murs presents a now historic artwork, Flying Dragon by the artist Alexander Calder. Details: Sheet metal, bolts, and paint. 30 × 56 × 21 feet 6 inches.

Musée national Eugène Delacroix
In collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, the Musée national Eugène Delacroix opens to FIAC visitors. Situated in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the museum is an unexpected heaven of peace, positioned between a courtyard and a garden. The former apartment of the artist, and his studio, purpose-designed by the artist himself, it was transformed into a museum on the initiative of Maurice Denis and other great painters of the 1920s. This year, the Musée national Eugène Delacroix features a dialogue between paintings by Eugène Delacroix and artworks by Jean Claracq, around the theme of youth. Curated by Claire Bessède, Director of the musée national Eugène Delacroix, this exhibition is organised in collaboration with galerie Sultana, Paris.

FIAC programmes:

Parades for FIAC
For its fifth edition, the performance festival Parades for FIAC, dedicated to performative practices and dialogue between disciplines in contemporary art, takes place in various emblematic institutions of the capital including the Centre Pompidou, the Bourse de Commerce—Pinault Collection and the Auditorium of the musée du Louvre. This programme lies at the crossroads of performance, dance and film. Parades for FIAC benefits from the support of Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels. Among the artists: Matthew Barney, Gerard & Kelly, Ayaka Nakama, Davide-Christelle Sanvee, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Martha Wilson.

Conversation Room
This year, FIAC proposes a fully digitized programme of Conversations, accessible to all on FIAC Online Viewing Rooms. French and international institutions are invited to hold discussions on current issues and concerns. Among the invited institutions: Rockbund Art Museum (Shangai, China), Ishara Art Foundation (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), HAYY (Saudi Arabia), MoMA (New York, USA), Jeu de Paume (Paris, France) and others.

FIAC Online Viewing Rooms
The second edition of FIAC Online Viewing Rooms runs from October 20 to 25, concomitantly with FIAC. Bringing together 212 exhibitors, 43 of whom are presented exclusively online, FIAC Online Viewing Rooms is a platform, designed with Artlogic—the leader in digital technology in service to the art world—as a tool for connecting exhibitors and FIAC’s wide audience of collectors and art lovers. The function Chance Encounter, which enables artworks to be discovered randomly, is back together with the possibility to make fine-tuned searches with multiples criteria including prince points. FIAC Online Viewing Rooms now features new functions such as the possibility of signing the guest book of online galleries, accessing the list of artists presented, or the possibility of saving your favourites during the online fair.
