After more than 50 years of history, Flash Art is ready for reinvention. Starting with this issue, Flash Art will become a seasonal publication. It has doubled its page count and contents to offer readers a more in-depth, discursive experience. A new logo also heralds this change: an apparent return to the visual identity of Flash Art, albeit revised and updated with an evolving graphic layout. The new logo is designed by Agenzia del Contemporaneo under the art direction of Alessio Avventuroso, with the exclusive "ABC Gravity" typeface designed by Dinamo—to be released in 2021.

The issue investigates the dynamism and hybridizations of languages ​​in contemporary art that always characterized the magazine, starting from one of the key themes that most permeated the magazine history: the curatorial process, the exhibition as a moment of reflection and revelation, the 'questioning' on the infinite (perhaps) open possibilities of the same. In this regard, the essays by Terry Smith and Pascale Krief pay homage to Germano Celant, the visionary curator and critic who overturned the criteria of curating and exhibiting contemporary art.

These pages intend to return an in-depth survey of the practices of artists such as Alfredo Acetocover story of the issue—which defines the location of the exhibition as the hypothesis of a "correction of the world" to be verified; or Francesco Gennari who invites us to confront ourselves with the mutability of matter and the sources and “individual mythologies” of Alessandro Di Pietro.

In addition, in this issue an extensive dossier on Philippe Parreno's practice that tirelessly probes and forces the limits of the exhibition format; Liliane Lijn, Ian Wilson, Yona Friedman and a partial reprint of the 1972 issue “Special documenta V” from the Flash Art archive.
